Earl D. Shafer A graduate of Penn State's Turfgrass Management Program and a Golf Course Superintendent for 30 years. Primarily experienced with cool season grasses. Former General Superintendent of Grounds at a large corporate Club…the DuPont Country Club, in Wilmington, Delaware (a multi-course facility with levels of play consistently over 150,000 rounds per year and host of a major tour stop of the LPGA for 13 years). Managed operating budgets of more than $2MM and capital of over $3MM. Ranked second to Mission Hills Country Club in maintenance on the LPGA Tour. Ranked "One of the Best" by Golf Week magazine for 3 years. Published in the USGA "Greens Section Record" magazine on Preparing for Championship Play After Total Winterkill in 1994. Featured in "Delaware Today" magazine in 1997. A member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America since 1970 and Certified by that organization since 1977. A member of the Philadelphia Association of Golf Course Superintendents since 1980. Appointed to the USGA Greens Section Committee in 1999. Retired from DuPont in March of 2000. Robert T.Vincent Attended Penn State University and Wilkes Barre Business College with thirty-five years experience overseeing golf course consruction for the country's major golf course architects including 18 and 9 hole courses and renovations on greens, tees, sand traps, irrigation systems and lakes. Golf course construction and maintenance has been a family function for many years. In 1969-1970, my father founded the Golf Course Builders of America and served as President in 1971. I served on the organization's Board of Directors from 1985 to 1990. President of Vincent Construction and Stillwater Asphalt for the past 20 years performing all phases of project construction from estimating and bidding to supervising the job to a successful completion. Licensed pilot of personally-owned STO Helio Courier which facilitates cost-saving travel to and from project sites. We are both eager to share our knowledge and expertise with you |
